Bouchard Transportation Upgrades Its Barges

Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. announced that as part of the company’s five year fleet expansion and equipment upgrade plan, it has placed orders for the Intercon ladder units for the barges B. No. 210 and B. No. 220.

When installed, these barges will have the capabilities to couple with all the companies 6,000 HP class of tugboats and operate in ATB (Articulated Tug/Barge) mode.

The units are due to complete fabrication and deliver in February of 2014 and along with the installation of a segregated ballast system will take approximately six months to install aboard the barge.
