Can The Oceans Clean Themselves from Plastic Debris

The high amount of plastic that floats freely in the oceans forming gyres, which endanger sea life, affects food chain and causes over a billion US dollar worth vessel damages per  year.

Take a look at the inspiring speech of a first year aerospace engineering student at the Delft University of Technology, in the Netherlands, Boyan Slat, a creator of the Marine Litter Extraction system.

Boyan Slat delivered a  speech during a recent TEDx talk at his University, where he presented an innovative plan on how to remove plastic garbage from the oceans.
