China - COSCO Dalian Delivers New Bulk Carrier Designed by SDARI

COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard Co., Ltd (COSCO Dalian), the largest shipyard in COSCO Shipyard Group, has delivered a bulk carrier of 57.000 DWT ‘GUOTOU 105′ to its Asian buyer. This 57.000 DWT bulk carrier was designed by SDARI Company.

The delivery documents were signed by and between COSCO Dalian and the buyer on March 16th 2012. The bulk carrier measures 189.99m in LOA (length of all), 32.26m in breadth and 18m in depth.

This supramax bulk carrier is designed to burn less fuel oil. The efficiency improvements have been achieved by carrying out a number of straightforward – but effective – changes including: de-rating the main engine, a new propeller design which has been optimised for the de-rated engine, and fitting a mewis duct.
