Military cuts dash rising hopes for new work at city shipyard

The Nanaimo Shipyard Group is worried cuts to Canada’s military budget will further reduce government projects that the shipbuilding industry relies on. Last week, the Conservatives’ budget showed that they expected to save $2.5 billion by slowing the rate of previously planned growth in the National Defence budget.
