Russia: Amur Shipbuilding Lays Keel for Steregushchy Class Corvette of Project 20380

Today on February 17th in the assembly and welding workshop of JSC “Amur Shipbuilding Plant” the keel laying ceremony, which symbolizes the beginning of construction Steregushchy class corvette of Project 20380 named Gromky, was held. 

The ceremony was attended by Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Chairman of Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, chairman of the Legislative Duma of Khabarovsk Krai S. Khokhlov and many other high dignitaries as well as correspondents of local and regional medias.

This multipurpose patrol ship named Gromky, designed to combat surface ships and submarines, will provide air defense and artillery support for the landing and amphibious operations. This marks a new milestone in the development of Amur Shipyard.
