Indonesia: After Naming Ceremony Multipurpose Subsea Vessel Kendal Gets Its First Assignment

Hallin Marine, a Superior Energy Services company, announces further expansion to its fleet of offshore support vessels. The Kendal, a multipurpose subsea vessel, with both ROV and Air Diving capability installed departs for her first project with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) in Indonesia, this coming Saturday after the naming ceremony.

PHE ONWJ, as her first customer, has engaged the vessel for a 3 month IRM campaign in North Java. For this work, the vessel has been equipped with two TMS inspection class ROV’s and is supported by the project team from the Hallin office in Jakarta.

The Kendal is equipped for a wide range of offshore subsea support activity including ROV operations, inspection, repair and maintenance support with a built in air diving capability. The vessel is built with full compliance to the latest Special Purpose Ship Code, ABS Class Requirements and holds DP2 notation.

Kendal was named by Mrs Carleen Chamberlain, wife of Hallin’s Chief Operating Officer, during a formal dedication ceremony on the afternoon of 14 September. Attended by Hallin management, staff and invited guests, the event was held at the quayside of Loyang Offshore Supply Base adjacent to the Hallin Group’s Singapore headquarters.

Kendal’s operational and technical configuration are based on Hallin’s proven ability to deliver efficient and dependable offshore support services practically anywhere in the world,” states John Giddens, Hallin‘s Group Chief Executive. “Built in Batam, the vessel is equipped to high standards in order to maximise operational safety, efficiency and versatility whilst operating at pricing levels that are competitive within today’s market. With a maximum draft of just 5 metres, the 65.5 metre long by 16 metre breadth Kendal is capable of operating worldwide in support of Hallin’s ongoing geographical expansion.”
