UK: Regs4ships Limited Celebrates Ten-Year Anniversary

On Thursday 15 September 2011, local city champions, colleagues and customers joined to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Regs4ships Limited, a digital maritime organisation based in the heart of Southampton. Guests, including His Right Worshipful The Mayor of Southampton Councillor Terry Matthews and The Mayoress Mrs Lesley Matthews, were treated to a late afternoon buffet and toasted the success of Regs4ships over the last ten years.

Since three of the directors founded the company in one of their front rooms, Regs4ships has grown to employ 26 members of staff with over 260 combined years of practical maritime experience. The business combines two slightly unusual aspects: mariners and information technology – fused together to ensure that the marine industry remains safe, secure and compliant with international maritime regulations.

Captain Richard Eastham, Chief Executive at Regs4ships Limited said: “From our initial customers we have built up our organisation to advise governments, ports, shipping companies, yacht-owning billionaires, captains, P&I insurance companies and virtually anybody who has an interest in maritime matters. “It was fantastic to welcome so many of our customers, friends, colleagues to our new offices and to share our milestone ten year anniversary with them. Regs4ships has always been based in Southampton, it could not be a better place – not only has Southampton always had strong ties with all things maritime, but the local marine hub has also really helped us to drive our business forward over the last ten years.”

Regs4ships Ltd was formed in 2001 to specialise in the provision of digital regulations, technical information and IMO material to ships and the shore infrastructure. The Directors and many of the staff are ex-mariners and Flag State surveyors. The company understands the regulations and the difficulties faced by ships and operators. We operate the only database of its kind in the world providing an up-to-date and accurate resource of shipping regulations and technical information and utilise this database to offer an extensive and increasing range of products and services. We now provide these products and services to many hundreds of ships and shore companies, including some of the biggest names in shipping.
